Paying TS B.Tech Fees This Week? 21 Colleges' 2026-27 Fees Are Under High Court Orders — Check the Official List First

21 private engineering colleges in Telangana have challenged TAFRC's 2026-27 fee fixation in the High Court, and several hold interim orders permitting a different fee for AY 2026-27. The court directed the Education Department to inform parents that fees paid are subject to its final verdict. A consolidated PDF of the High Court fee orders is published on tgeapcet.nic.in — review it before paying the tuition fee during self-reporting.

The tuition fee you pay at some Telangana private engineering colleges for AY 2026-27 may not be final. 21 colleges have moved the Telangana High Court against the fee fixed by the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) for the 2025-26 to 2027-28 block (notified via G.O.Ms.No.6, dated March 4, 2026), after the committee reduced their proposed fees or declined an increase. What the High Court has directed: • Several petitioner colleges hold interim orders permitting them to collect a court-specified fee for 2026-27 pending final disposal — for example, Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and Technology (Ibrahimpatnam) was permitted to collect ₹85,000/year against the ₹64,000 TAFRC had fixed (WP No. 20870/2026) • The Education Department must inform students and parents that fees paid at these colleges are subject to the court's final verdict • Copies of the orders for all the petitioner colleges have been published for public view — the consolidated "Fee Honourable High Court Orders" PDF and an "Attention to Parents and Candidates" notice are linked on the tgeapcet.nic.in homepage What candidates and parents should do: • Before paying the tuition fee during self-reporting, check whether your allotted college appears in the High Court orders PDF on tgeapcet.nic.in • Preserve every fee receipt — if the court's final verdict revises the fee, amounts collected in the interim may need adjustment or refund • Treat the fee shown on the counselling portal as the operative figure; these are interim, case-specific orders, not a general fee revision Separately, in the fee-reimbursement (GO 9) case, the High Court on July 10 directed affiliated colleges not to collect fees from students for now while the government clears reimbursement dues — the government committed to releasing ₹250 crore immediately, clearing dues for 2nd–4th-year students by July 31 and the first instalment for first-years by August 15. If the government misses those deadlines, colleges may collect fees directly from students. The matter is next listed on July 20, 2026.
